Hi, I’m Carianne
I’m a native plant specialist with 30 years of experience restoring pollinator and wildlife habitat in urban landscapes.
In 2019, I founded Strategic Habitat Enhancements to design joyful, climate-resilient spaces that support both people and ecosystems through thoughtful native plant strategies.
I have contributed to pollinator gardens in National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges, as well as large-scale habitat restoration projects in both urban and wild landscapes.
My work includes collaborations with regional conservation nonprofits and community organizations across southern Arizona.
I also teach the Advanced SmartScape course Sustainable Landscaping through the UA/Pima County Cooperative Extension and work closely with Master Gardeners in multiple Arizona counties.

I’m a third-generation Tucsonan, proud mom, dog-lover, and Certified Arizona Master Naturalist with a lifelong connection to the Sonoran Desert.
I spent 10 years with Community Gardens of Tucson, where I created the Kids in Gardens program, and since joining SHE in January 2024, I’ve focused on strengthening and improving our operations. I’m passionate about connecting people with nature and helping Tucson’s unique landscapes thrive.
