The “Insect Sanctuary” Project

This garden is Carianne’s living test laboratory - a place where curiosity leads, new species are trialed, and lessons are learned firsthand to refine what ultimately shows up in client landscapes. It’s a little less about formal design and a little more about letting the garden be wild, with beautiful, unexpected vignettes emerging naturally over time. Created as a safe and welcoming space for insects and birds, the landscape is in constant motion, evolving with each season and every passing year, so no visit ever feels the same. Thoughtful water-harvesting improvements by Heaven & Earth Ecological Landscaping support this dynamic ecosystem, allowing it to thrive while staying deeply attuned to the rhythms of the desert.
