I empower my community to reconnect with nature through resilient desert gardening. Together we can create an urban network of wildlife and pollinator habitat!

Hi, I'm Carianne, founder of Strategic Habitat Enhancements

After many years as an environmental consultant, I worked at a local conservation non-profit organization where I ran a bi-national habitat restoration program. I have worked all over the southwest, learning more and more with every new project, and unraveling the secrets of the native plants that make this region so unique. Two years ago, I decided to take my passion and build a business that creates accessible and educational options for home owners, just like yourself. That is how Strategic Habitat Enhancements, SHE, came to be.

I empower the community to reconnect with nature through resilient desert gardening. Together we can create an urban network of wildlife and pollinator habitat!

 The power of plant choice

Since launching in 2019, SHE has been making a positive impact on the southwest landscape for pollinators and other wildlife. I have worked on pollinator gardens at National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges, habitat restoration in urban and wild places. I’ve been working with local non-profits like the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance, Tucson Audubon Society, Gila Watershed Partnership, and the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists, as well as garden clubs including the Oracle Community Learning Garden and the Arizona Columbine Garden Club. I am teaching an Advanced SmartScape course, “Landscaping with Nature in Mind” through the UA/Pima County Cooperative Extension, and I have been working with Master Gardeners in three Arizona counties.

I have already helped dozens of clients in their journeys to transform their yards and gardens into oases of diversity for plants and animals! Now, how can I help YOU?
